Love of Culture Community Event
After setting up our Mobile Outreach Support Program and fundraising bake sale, our volunteers spent the afternoon serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and financial hardship. During the event, 29 families received immediate assistance through blankets, clothing, hygiene items, and food.
Our bake sale was also a great success, helping raise funds to support future outreach efforts while introducing new community members to our mission. Throughout the day, we connected with families, community partners, and volunteers, sharing how together we can make a lasting difference.
We are grateful to the Jones Lewis Foundation for the invitation and the opportunity to serve our community with warmth, love, respect, dignity, and compassion.

Malik’s Blankets for the Homeless was looking forward to spending the afternoon at Sparks Recovery for a special targeted outreach event.
This outreach was about more than simply distributing supplies. Our goal was to spend meaningful one-on-one time with individuals, listen to their needs, provide available essentials, and connect them with helpful resources whenever possible.
To make that personal approach possible, Sparks Recovery staff would have identified 30 of the facility’s most-needed clients to participate in the outreach. Limiting the number of individuals we serve would allow our team to provide more focused and individualized assistance.
During the event, Malik’s Blankets for the Homeless would have provide a hot meal featuring chicken wings, along with outreach services and available clothing, hygiene items, blankets, essential items, and resources.
Events like this are an important part of our mission because they allow us to take outreach directly into the community and build relationships with organizations that are already working closely with individuals who may need additional support.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Sparks Recovery and continue serving our neighbors with warmth, love, respect, dignity, and compassion.
